Season two of Stranger Things is almost upon us and who the hell knows if it’s going to be nearly as good as the first season of the show. The type of cultural dominance S1 had is the lightning in a bottle moment that often only happens once.
What’s in the realm of the known, at least at this point, is that S U R V I V E’s Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein are still bringing their synthy goodness to the proceedings. “Walkin’ in Hawkins,” the season two soundtrack opener, keeps up much of the duo’s previous show work while eschewing some of the lingering darkness and menace. There’s no real sense of danger to be found. Instead, Dixon and Stein deliver an electronic track that seemingly floats in midair. Soon enough though everything will come crashing back to Earth.
