Kornél Kovács’ skittering and sliding title track from his forthcoming debut sounds ready for the floor, but its not meant for you to sweat it out solo. This is the sort of tune, with its sighing background vocals and slow panning synths, for finding someone to groove with. It’s meant for 2 or 3 a.m. when there’s no one left out there but a few couples and those still looking for love. And so there’s a hint of euphoria in Kovács’ tune, tempered by the understanding that no one might be coming. If so, that’s fine because this is the sort of song that can wrap you up and make you forget about everything else.
The Bells drops this Friday on the Studio Barnhus label.
