Dina & Faro, the voices behind English duo Jadu Heart, sound damn tired on “Late Night.” As subtropical guitars dance around them and earthen drum beats bounce back-and-forth, they’re smoking cigarettes and stumbling around in a small circle. Their words don’t seem to be sung so much as exhaled. Its questionable what’s even keeping them upright.
But that’s the way more than a few late nights out go. Suddenly you look down at your phone and see its 2 a.m. and you wonder where the time went. With Jadu Heart the animating force is waiting, waiting for someone who may well not show. But that waiting is often more than enough to keep your mind awake while your head just wants to hit the pillow.
